THE Screaming Jets frontman Dave Gleeson is no stranger to the 4U2 Family Concert in Moranbah, having played there last year with the Angels.
“It was fantastic. I’m thinking if I want to play it next year I’ll have to find another band,” Dave said.
The concert will kick off a three-month tour to promote the iconic Australian rock band’s yet-to-be-named upcoming album.
The Rock n Roll Rampage tour includes more than 30 gigs over Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia, but Dave said he is looking forward to returning to the Mackay region.
“We’re all very excited about it, now we’ve finished the album everyone’s ready to get out there and play a few tunes up North in Queensland,” he said.
He said the band would be playing “three or four” new tracks at the concert, but all the old hits from the band’s 25-year career would make an appearance.
“There’s songs that we must play every show,” he said.
“Songs like Better, Helping Hand, October Grey and Sad Song and a bunch of others that if you don’t play, people throw cups at you.”
And if you’re concerned the Screaming Jets have gone soft playing at a family concert, don’t worry.
“It’s rock, rock and more rock. We’ve always been a two guitars, bass and drum band,” Dave said.
“The only reason I’ll bring a ukulele on stage is to smash it into a thousand pieces.”
The Screaming Jets will perform at the 4U2 Family Concert at the Honery Business Complex on September 12 at 2pm.
They will return to the region on October 18, playing at the Fairview Tavern in Farleigh from 7.30pm.

The Screaming Jets – The Band’s Own Page
18 September 2017 ·
DRUMMER MARK MCLEOD OFFICIALLY A SCREAMING JET..
In June 2017, Mark Draco McLeod joined the ranks, for the sold out national “They Who Rock” tour with Baby Animals Music. It didn’t take long for Mark to find his rhythm as the engine room of the Jets and with you, the fans across the nation. A born and bred Victorian, Mark has been hitting the skins from a very early age. Mark spent the early 1990’s after playing in a mix of cover bands, eventually joining original hard rock band “Wild Frontier”. Renaming themselves “Gellyfish” they toured overseas extensively throughout Europe & the US in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. In 2012, Mark met Paul Woseen at an audition. Mark sites Paul as his “long lost rhythm brother from another mother…”. The rest, as they say is history…Mark will be back behind the kit for The Jets in Jan 2018 for the Red Hot Summer national tour with Suzi Quatro, The Angels, The Baby Animals, Moving Pictures and Chocolate Starfish. Rock on Jet-Heads… It’s official.. he’s here to stay.. Your brothers in rock Dave Gleeson, Paul Woseen, Jimi Hocking, Scott Kingman welcome you …..
